FCPXML Subtitle Converter Perfect Guide

The FCPXML Subtitle Converter is a video production and editing assistant web application that converts XML subtitle track data generated by Apple Final Cut Pro into web-standard subtitle formats (SRT, WebVTT, SBV) and refined plain text scripts with a single click. It supports high-performance utilities including subtitle extraction, real-time individual subtitle editing, batch shift timing sync, batch script replacement, and dual subtitle merging.

Key Features

  • Secure Data Parsing: Uploaded project files are parsed only within the isolated browser session, ensuring safe conversion without risk of leaking editing secrets or project history.
  • Batch Time Sync Shift: Adjust the start and end sync of subtitles backward or forward by seconds with decimal precision (up to 3 decimal places).
  • Dual Subtitle Merging: Merge two separate language subtitles into a dual subtitle layout (stacked vertically) and export them quickly.
  • Find/Replace & Script Insertion: Replaces typos in one go or automatically inserts a prepared text script in order while preserving existing timecodes, eliminating tedious manual labor.

How to Use

  1. Drag and drop or select the .fcpxml file exported from Final Cut Pro to load it into the converter upload area.
  2. Choose the desired output format (SRT, WebVTT, Plain Text) and set the file suffix.
  3. To adjust sync, enter the shift value in seconds in the time adjustment section and click the +/- button.
  4. Edit individual subtitles in the table below or fill text via the 'Bulk Inject Script' modal, then click 'Download Subtitles' or 'Copy to Clipboard'.
