Batch File Renamer Guide
The Batch File Renamer is a secure free tool that allows you to rename multiple files at once or automatically fix Korean filename display errors (character separation) between Mac and Windows.
Precautions for Use
- Original Files Preserved: The renamed files are compiled into a new downloaded ZIP archive. Your original files on your disk will remain untouched.
- Large Batch Handling: Since it processes locally in browser memory, we recommend breaking massive file counts (tens of GBs) into smaller batches to prevent browser lag.
Key Features
- No-Upload Secure Local Execution: Files are never uploaded to a server; all processes happen locally on your computer, keeping confidential documents and personal photos 100% private.
- Fix Mac-Windows Filename Glitches: Automatically repairs broken Korean letters (decomposed Jamo) generated from Mac systems into standard consolidated formats.
- Flexible Custom Rules: Apply multiple renaming actions like string replacement, prefix/suffix additions, automatic numbering with zero padding, and current date insertions.
- Extension Preservation Safeguard: Prevents files from getting corrupted by separating the file base name from its extension (.jpg, .pdf, etc.) during processing.
How to Use
- Drag and drop or select multiple files in the dropzone to import them into the work panel.
- Adjust formatting options in the settings section (new base name, character replacement, numbering, prefix/suffix).
- Check the "Renamed File Name" column in the preview table in real-time.
- To only fix Mac-Windows filename glitches without renaming, simply download immediately without specifying any rules.
- Click "Download ZIP" to download all renamed files packed securely in a clean ZIP file.
